Overview of GLEAM
GLEAM is an ongoing project that was designed for systems administrators so they can easily keep track of and update information related to all employees, vendors, purchasing information, software, and hardware assets without prohibiting them from their daily work tasks such as tickets and projects.
By combining all of these features into one application, you will see great improvements of the reliability of often neglected (but necessary) tasks such as inventory and asset tracking.
The GLEAM Theory
In order to keep the information relied upon (by the systems administration team readily available and up-to-date we must i) determine the links and dependencies of such information and combine them together so that they may be logically accessed through a single application ii) create a system that is open to change so that new information links can be added as our knowledge of this information grows and iii) by enabling the entire systems administration team with access to this information we will in turn drive the information to remain up-to-date and useful.

Tracking of all Vendors (suppliers, service providers, contractors, etc.)
Tracking of all Purchase Orders, Lease Agreements, and Warranty information
Tracking of all Hardware Assets (as related to purchase orders, lease agreements, and vendors)

- Including Services, Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting
- Including Disaster Recovery Reports
Tracking of all asset changes – both automatic and manual additions (History)
Tracking of user, hardware, software and administration requests (Tickets)
- Including history of tickets by employee, department, or hardware/software type
Tracking of all systems administrator Projects and Tasks
- Including reports to help with Employee Reviews
